Bihar to Host Bihar Business Connect 2024: Global Investors Buzzing About Investment Opportunities
Patna, Nov 21 (Rediff Money Desk): In a significant move to attract foreign investment, the second edition of the popular business forum, Bihar Business Connect (BBC) 2024, is set to showcase the business opportunities in the state on December 19-20, 2024. Over 80 countries have confirmed their participation, and union ministers will be attending as special guests.
According to the state government official, a number of high-profile secretaries of central ministries would also be in attendance along with top industry associations in India.
The two-day event aims to attract foreign investment worth Rs 50,000 crore in key sectors such as textiles, food processing and electric vehicles. The last edition of the event resulted in an impressive deal amounting to Rs 50,500 crore signed by over 278 companies for proposed investments.
Bihar government officials informed that a website has been launched where businesses can register themselves, with initial registration opening on November 12.
During this year's Business Connect conference, India aims to take forward the initiatives aimed at creating employment opportunities for large numbers of people through new industries as several jobs generation programmes have been devised in order for achieving the goal.
Signifying its commitment towards promoting investment and business growth in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, said that investments from other countries are particularly welcomed.
Nitish Kumar further announced his government's intention to roll out an open door policy with domestic and international companies and foreign investors would get access to a full range of infrastructure like water, electricity, gas, connectivity for digital services.
