BETTING BIG ON THE FUTURE OF SOUTH ASIAN ARTISTS: JAY SEAN LAUNCHES 3AM ENTERTAINMENT RECORD LABEL AND UPCOMING ALBUM LAST CALL

London, UK - Ahead of his forthcoming album "Last Call" set to drop in 2025, singer Jay Sean is making waves in the music industry once again by launching a record label that aims to support emerging South Asian artists.

The Heavy Group's Jeremy Skaller and Range Media's Jared Cotter co-founded 3AM Entertainment with singer-songwriter Sean, which will focus on providing a platform for up-and-coming acts from the South Asian diaspora to break through global music markets. The label is set to operate under Virginia Media, with both Sean and Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan already releasing big hits.

Following his historic achievement of becoming the first South Asian artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 in 2009 with his Lil Wayne-assisted single "Down", Sean has always been vocal about the importance of diverse representation in music. Now, he's taking it a step further by creating a label that celebrates and uplifts talented artists from underrepresented communities.

According to Sean, the label is personal for him. "I'm South Asian. A lot of people still don't know that... I'm proud to be South Asian, and I hope that 3AM Entertainment can provide a structure for brown people." In an effort to combat racism in the music industry, Sean expressed his own experiences in being misidentified as Puerto Rican or Dominican due to his shaved head. "They didn’t realize I was South Asian," he quips.

3AM Entertainment's first releases include Sean himself and Nicola Coughlan dropping tracks, including campy novelty song "Shoes... More Shoes" with proceeds going to LGBTQIA+ charities - Not A Phase and Trevor Project.

Sean has high hopes for the label. When his new album drops next year, he expressed that he is living his dreams after years of hard work, saying "I hope that I can look back and say all the years that I dreamt of this happening have finally come true."

"We're talking about a whole demographic [on] planet Earth, why aren't we taking the scene over? That's why I set up 3AM," he emphasized.

Music fans awaiting Sean's new album are eager to hear more. What can be expected from "Last Call"? Two singles - guitar-inflected trap&B banger "Heartless" and R&B groover “Piche Piche” featuring Punjabi hitmaker Ikky, Jai Dhir, Eric Bellinger, and co-produced by Sean Cook.
