BETA Technologies Pioneers Electric Airflight with Holistic Approach

Vermont-based electric aerospace manufacturer BETA Technologies has taken significant strides in the development of electric air travel, with its founder and CEO, Kyle Clark, at the helm. The company's visionary approach has not only yielded two all-electric aircraft, the ALIA VTOL and ALIA CTOL, but also established a comprehensive charging network and comprehensive training programs to support their operation.

As part of this ambitious project, BETA Technologies is rapidly building out a multimodal and interoperable charging infrastructure capable of powering various types of electric vehicles, including its own electric aircraft as they enter service. Furthermore, the company offers immersive simulators for pilot and mechanic training, solidifying talent in future generations of engineers specializing in electrical aircraft development.

Clark's unified design method also shines through in BETA Technologies' product creation process, integrating engineering, design, and production disciplines within one collaborative environment. Dassault Systèmes' solutions portfolio serves as the backbone for this holistic approach, providing a cutting-edge software platform to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and product development.

"Beta quickly discovered that designing an electric aircraft is a deeply interconnected process, requiring a unified and cooperative product development software environment," remarked Jesse Cannon, BETA's Product Lifecycle Management systems lead. "Dassault Systèmes' industry-leading solution has granted us the necessary tools to drive our endeavors forward as we achieve our strategic objectives."
