BATESVILLE ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT SEES RENAISSANCE AS NEW RESTAURANTS AND BIZINES BRING IN MONEY

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - The Batesville Entertainment District is witnessing a resurgence, with four new restaurants set to pour more money into the area.

The city's Main Street has seen a significant boost, thanks to businesses selling liquor, and more are on the way. Tham Dayberry, owner of Polk and Paddle, expressed optimism about the district's growth. "To me, it goes hand in hand with your daytime activities," she said. "Batesville wants to provide unique dining experiences."

Dayberry attributed the entertainment district's revival to its revitalization after a restaurant that sold alcohol closed during COVID. She noted the economic impact of the new businesses, which would draw customers from throughout the state.

Three more restaurants are soon to join Polk and Paddle on Main Street, also planning to serve liquor. Dayberry acknowledged concerns about drinking in downtown areas but emphasized that her establishments adhered to rules and regulations, offering a diverse dining experience for all patrons.

"I want us to be good neighbors," she said. "I don't see it as a competition; I see it as collaboration."

Main Street Batesville described the growth of the entertainment district as a transformation of a place into a space where people can connect, express themselves creatively, and celebrate.

Restaurateurs aim to open their new establishments as early as Spring 2025. While an exact opening date remains uncertain, one thing is clear – the Batesville Entertainment District is poised for a bright future.
