Barcos Unveils Cutting-Edge Tech-Enabled Products, Eyeing to Revolutionize Fashion Industry
Japanese handbag and wallet manufacturer Barcos is set to incorporate advanced tracking technology similar to AirTag into its products, marking a significant shift towards tech-enabled clothing.
Founded in 1991, Barcos has established itself as a leading original equipment manufacturer (OEM) with a reputation for producing high-quality, affordable items. According to company President Takashi Yamamoto, the key to the company's success lies in providing customers with excellent products at competitive prices. "We can't be competitive in the world unless good products are provided at a low price," he emphasizes.
The new range of tech-enabled products is set to be launched domestically in fall 2024, with plans to expand its availability across overseas markets. The tracking technology would enable customers to locate their lost purses, wallets, and handbags on their smartphones.
"This technology will show people the exact location of their items," explains Mr. Yamamoto, who expects it to be a top seller. "We want to leverage this new product to start the next stage of our business."
Barcos has already partnered with international companies such as TJ Maxx as an OEM and collaborated with renowned designers like Ryuji Otani and Picard. The company is open to collaborating with other like-minded designers and material makers, without any predetermined criteria.
With its focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, Barcos is poised to revolutionize the fashion industry. As the technology continues to enhance the user experience, it will be exciting to see how this Japanese manufacturer shapes the future of tech-enabled clothing.
