Australia's Josh Hazlewood Ruled Out of 2nd Test Against India with Side Strain Injury

Sydney, Nov. 28 (AP) - Australia pace bowler Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the second cricket test against India due to a side strain injury sufferred in the first test at Perth.

Hazlewood's injury was discovered after he played four overs on Saturday and was immediately replaced by fellow bowler Scott Boland, who will don the third man's cap, as his likely replacement for the day-night test in Adelaide which commences this Friday.

The 33-year-old Hazlewood had displayed a concerning lack of potency when he went on despite his 5-57 (from 34 deliveries) score from Perth where Australia were humiliated with a heavy defeat. He has played only four international matches over the past two years due to repeated side strain issues.

However, Sean Abbott and Brendan Doggett may replace this bowler as support in order to give team an extra boost that is in dire need of a revamp.

The latest news doesn't rule out Hazlewood from participating fully after Adelaide as Cricket Australia will monitor his overall fitness after the Adelaide match.

Moreover, there was another injury update regarding Mitch Marsh due to ankle complaint  - Beau Webster has been asked by Cricket Australia as his replacement.
