Argentine Waiter Arrested Amid Accusations of Supplying Drugs to Late Singer Liam Payne

BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA - In a shocking turn of events, 29-year-old waiter Braian Nahuel Paiz has been arrested in Argentina under serious allegations related to the death of British singer Liam Payne. The arrest, made on January 3, 2025, marks a new development in the ongoing investigation into Payne's demise.

Paiz was accused by Argentina's National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor's Office of supplying drugs to Payne, following which he has been taken into custody. According to reports, Paiz could potentially face prison time ranging from four to 15 years.

Paiz's attorney, Fernando Madeo Facente, asserts his client's innocence, claiming that he never sold any drugs to Payne and had in fact confessed to using substances together with the singer but denied supplying them or accepting money from him.

Payne, 31, passed away on October 16 after falling from a third-floor balcony at his hotel room in Argentina. Five individuals were initially charged in connection with the incident, including Paiz, who is currently facing manslaughter charges along with three other individuals accused of failing to provide adequate care for Payne before his fall.

The investigation revealed that Payne was in a vulnerable state at the time of his death, having consumed substances including alcohol, cocaine, and an antidepressant. The combination of these substances may have contributed to his loss of consciousness, leading ultimately to his tragic loss.

Liam Payne's funeral was held on November 20, 2024, in the English countryside, where family and friends, including partner Kate Cassidy and former bandmates from One Direction, gathered to pay their respects.
