Apple Considers Historic Shift by Bringing High-Refresh-Rate OLED Displays to Entire iPhone 17 Lineup
Washington: In a significant overhaul of its product strategy, Apple is reportedly considering a major change to its upcoming iPhone 17 series by making high-refresh-rate OLED displays currently exclusive to the "Pro" models available across the entire lineup.
According to a recent report obtained by MacRumours, the base iPhone 17 model may now feature a high-refresh-rate display that was previously reserved for the top-tier Pro variants.
The rumour aligns with previous leaks and insights from Apple's supply chain, suggesting that the Cupertino-based tech giant is indeed planning to expand this technology to its entire iPhone 17 series.
The key to this advancement lies in Apple's Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide (LTPO) technology, which enables variable refresh rates that adjust based on what's being displayed on the screen. This results in smoother scrolling and better power efficiency, making it a standout feature of current Pro models.
