Anirban Lahiri To Compete in International Series India at DLF Golf and Country Club
Gurugram [Haryana], January 26 (ANI): Indian golf legend Anirban Lahiri is set to compete in International Series India, a flagship event of the Asian Tour, at DLF Golf and Country Club next week. The seven-time Asian Tour winner, known for his strong performances on the global stage, believes that the tournament will be a significant milestone for Indian golf.
The 36-year-old golfer joined forces with Crushers GC teammates, including captain and reigning US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau, as well as Paul Casey, to compete in the India field. Having established himself as a familiar presence on The International Series since its inception in 2022, Lahiri has experienced strong performances throughout the tournaments.
"I would love for International Series India to be an annual fixture," Lahiri said in a press release. "It deserves that recognition and it's a synergetic event for everything that the two entities, the country and the Asian Tour, have done together so, I am very pleased that this becomes a regular International Series fixture."
Lahiri believes that The International Series India will be the biggest event in Indian golf, which is instrumental in shaping the careers of many of the country's golfing greats over the years. "I think India has been such an integral part of the Asian Tour," he said.
The tournament marks a significant milestone for Indian golf, with Lahiri aiming to perform at his highest level throughout the season. He hopes to achieve more consistency and win his first event in 2025. The International Series provides a global pathway for players to qualify for the LIV Golf League, making it an exciting and competitive event.
The tournament starts next week at DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram, marking the beginning of an exciting chapter for Indian golf.
