Andy Murray And Novak Djokovic End Coaching Partnership

Andy Murray And Novak Djokovic End Coaching Partnership

LONDON, UK - Former tennis rivals Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic have announced the end of their six-month coaching partnership.

In a surprise move, Djokovic partnered with the retired two-time Grand Slam champion in November to lead his off-court team. However, their stint together has come to an abrupt end due to lack of success on the court.

Murray expressed gratitude to Djokovic for the "unbelievable opportunity" to coach him. The 37-year-old Scot thanked Djokovic's team for all their hard work over the past six months and wished his former opponent all the best for the rest of the season.

The partnership started on a promising note, with Djokovic beating Carlos Alcaraz in his first match at the Australian Open only to retire through injury during his semi-final against Alexander Zverev. However, success has since eluded them, with Djokovic struggling to make an impact at his last two tournaments.

Djokovic acknowledged that their partnership did not yield the desired results, stating: "Thank you, Coach Andy, for all the hard work, fun and support over the past six months. I really enjoyed deepening our friendship together."

The end of Murray's stint as Djokovic's coach comes at a time when the Serbian tennis superstar is facing a challenging season, having lost his first match at both his last two tournaments.

Djokovic's decision to part ways with Murray marks another significant change in his coaching setup.
