Andhra Pradesh, Reliance Industries Ink MoU for 500 Compressed Biogas Plants
The Government of Andhra Pradesh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Reliance Industries, with the conglomerate committing to invest Rs 65,000 crore in setting up 500 compressed biogas plants across the state over the next five years.
According to Nara Lokesh, Minister for IT, Electronics & Communications, and Human Resource Development, who led the negotiations between the two parties, a proposal was discussed as far back as 30 days ago, leading to a swift signing of the MoU. Lokesh expressed his confidence that "the era of 'ease of doing business' is over" and that this deal signifies a turning point in addressing his state's development needs.
