Amitabh Bachchan Pays Tribute to Indian Soldiers with Poem Written by His Father

Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan on Tuesday paid tribute to the bravery of Indian soldiers for Operation Sindoor, honoring their dedication and strength through a heartfelt poem shared on his social media handles.

New Delhi: The 81-year-old Baghban actor expressed his deep respect and admiration for the armed forces by sharing an image of a poem written by his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan. The caption reads, "T 5377(i) - Jai Hind जय हिन्द की सेना."

Sharing excerpts from his father's poem, Amitabh Bachchan wrote: "...Oh! The angered and dedicated Jawans of the Country...clench your teeth..stand up and move forward..upward and beyond..without giving any voice..if you have to speak..may the sound be heard of your slaps registered on the face of the enemy!!"

He further added, "...In peace there's nothing so becomes a man As modest stillness and humility...But when the blast of war blows in our ears...Then imitate the action of the tiger; Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood..."

Amitabh Bachchan concluded his tweet with a poem that urged the nation to stand strong like a "galled rock" and set its teeth and stretch its nostrils wide. He ended his tribute with "Bharat mata ki jai. Vande Mataram."

The actor's heartfelt post was in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent address on Operation Sindoor, where he honored the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers.

Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan has been quite active on the work front, with his latest cop-drama film 'Vettaiyan' being a recent release. The actor will next be seen in the comedy-drama film 'The Intern', co-starring Deepika Padukone and Neena Gupta.
