Amitabh Bachchan Opens Up About Struggle and Humility
Mumbai: In a heartfelt episode of "Kaun Banega Crorepati 16" that aired on Monday, host Amitabh Bachchan shared his candid reflections on his early days of struggling to make it big in the film industry.
The 79-year-old actor nostalgically reminisced about his humble beginnings, walking long distances and carrying a small bag while job-hunting. "I also learned the roads by walking," he said, highlighting how his journey to success was built on hard work and perseverance, rather than luxury.
Bachchan revealed that during his early days as an aspiring actor, he would often have to walk everything - from Vile Parle station to his home, which is now known as "Jalsa". He shared that not even a bag was a guarantee at that time, giving credit to contemporary issues of those times. When job hunting, Bachchan used to take long walks to get accustomed with the place.
The 'Sholay' actor also revealed that he never imagined his current life, and he humbly expressed that he feels fortunate for having reached where he is today.
As a heartfelt tribute to contestant Nishant Jaiswal from Chhattisgarh, an artisan dedicated to the intricately crafted silk-making with cocoons and an aspiring IPS officer, Bachchan narrated about a touching memory. Standing outside Jalsaa' his house many times but failing to qualify for KBC, he silently prayed that this time would be any different. Touched by this, Bachchan recalled his own life experiences.
Nishant told the media later that day that he opened up on how Abhishek Bachchan appeared as a family member in the show "Kaun Baega Crorepati" 16 which was recently aired.
