"Indian Entrepreneur Launches Anashwar Media and Entertainment with Nikhil Mahajan's 'Taxi Driver' at Film Bazaar"

Mumbai, November 24 - In a significant move, Indian entrepreneur Prasanna Ajarekar has launched Anashwar Media and Entertainment, marking the company’s debut with director Nikhil Mahajan's "Taxi Driver" at the ongoing Film Bazaar project market. The film is set to commence production early next year and is targeted for release in 2026.

The story revolves around a taxi driver and a thief whose lives intersect during one fateful night, revealing an unexpected connection from their past. This marks Mahajan’s genre shift after his previous family drama "Godavari." For him, "Taxi Driver" represents a dream project that he is grateful to have Prasanna's conviction backing.

Mahajan will be joining forces with producer Suhrud Godbole again for this film, marking their fourth collaboration following 'Pune 52', 'Baji,' and 'June'. However, Ajarekar and Ajeet Godbole are also associated as an executive producer, a notable departure from previous agreements. This new development reflects Anashwar Media’s commitment to providing adequate opportunities to upcoming filmmakers.

Ajarekar himself is intrigued by the business of cinema and was approached by Shrirang Godbole with an introduction to Nikhil Mahajan and Suhrud Godbole. He hopes that this collaboration marks a step towards creating an ecosystem for modern, cutting-edge Indian cinema and eyes are placed on launching these projects in India.

Film Bazaar has continued to be supportive towards many established filmmakers from the Marathi film industry. Its project market component has seen success with multiple prominent ventures in the past few years. The addition of "Taxi Driver" at Film Bazaar is an indication that Anashwar Media will continue its focus on nurturing fresh talent.

While details regarding the launch and release date are still being discussed, it can be said that this collaboration marks a new beginning for both Anashwar Media and Mahajan in terms of their efforts towards developing high quality films targeted at Indian viewers.
