"Nationwide Bank Holiday Today; Digital Banking Services Unfazed"

Tripura, Himachal Pradesh - The birth anniversaries of renowned national figures, Nazrul Islam and Maharana Pratap Jayanti, have been marked in a symbolic manner.

However, it is not just these historical events that are being observed across the country. Today marks an important bank holiday as well - May 24th. In line with the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) official calendar, financial institutions will remain closed today due to the fourth Saturday of the month.

According to the RBI's scheduled holidays, banks fall silent every second and fourth Saturday in a year, impacting various banking services including cash deposits and withdrawals, account openings, cheque clearances, loan processing, approvals requiring manual intervention, and other documentation-related services. Nevertheless, digital banking services continue to function as normal, with customers able to use mobile banking apps, ATMs, and electronic payment systems like NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS without disruption.

This bank holiday applies uniformly across all banks regulated by the RBI nationwide. Therefore, no branch-specific variations exist in this instance - everything depends on the official schedule maintained by the RBI, which is designed to prevent inconvenience for common people when dealing with various financial transactions.

Other notable holidays in May that need to be observed include birthdays of famous national figures as well as other regional celebrations. Nonetheless, being aware of the upcoming occasions remains essential to avoid missing key events and observe them with due respect.
