Akhilesh Kumar Dixit Takes Over as New CEO of India's Leading Energy Efficiency Service Provider EESL

New Delhi: In a significant move, the Central Government has appointed Akhilesh Kumar Dixit as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of state-run Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), effective from Monday.

Dixit brings with him 32 years of experience across various senior roles in the power sector, including substation and transmission line operations, business development, corporate social responsibility (CSR), human resources, and procurement. According to a company statement, Dixit joins EESL from Power Grid Corp., where he worked extensively across multiple core business functions.

EESL, an energy service company that enables consumers, industries, and governments to manage their energy needs through energy-efficient technologies, was founded in 2009 as a joint venture of four public-sector undertakings. The ministry of power promotes EESL.

As the new CEO, Dixit aims to build on EESL's strong legacy while charting a bold path forward. He envisions integrating smart technologies, fostering inclusive growth, and delivering measurable impact for the nation.

Under his leadership, EESL plans to transform into a next-generation energy solutions provider, driving innovation, accelerating the adoption of sustainable technologies, and strengthening India's energy efficiency mission.

The appointment is seen as a significant development in the government's efforts to promote energy conservation and sustainability. EESL has already signed several energy efficiency pacts worth ₹500 crore in recent months.

Details of Dixit's tenure, his vision for EESL, and his strategy for transforming the company into a cutting-edge energy solutions provider are not available yet. However, the Central Government is expected to provide further insights on this front as more information comes to light.
