Adani Group Chairman Praises Young World Chess Champion D. Gukesh

Chairman of Adani Group, Gautam Adani, met with 18-year-old world chess champion, D. Gukesh and his family recently, expressing his admiration for the young prodigy's extraordinary achievement.

Gukesh, who made headlines last month after winning the World Chess Championship 2024 in Singapore by defeating Chinese Grandmaster Ding Liren, is being hailed as one of India's brightest young talents. Adani was visibly impressed with Gukesh's success and took to time to congratulate him on his remarkable accomplishment.

"I have my admiration for Gukesh, this young boy from India has achieved the unachievable at such a young age," said Adani in a statement. "Not merely is he a great chess player but a shining example of what our young generation can do when they get right support."

Adani's praise didn't stop with Gukesh alone. He also paid tribute to the 18-year-old's parents, Dr. Rajinikanth and Dr. Padmavathi, calling them " equally inspiring" for their quiet sacrifices, which he said laid the foundation for Gukesh's success.

"It is the parent who often has an invisible hand in guiding his child, helping him understand things without drawing attention. These people have put so much behind to make everything smooth like silk for Gukesh," Adani added.

Adani's gesture of appreciation comes at a time when India is witnessing a resurgence in the number of talented young chess players taking the sport by storm. With Gukesh leading the way, Adani hopes that other Indian youth will draw inspiration from his story and strive to achieve greatness in their respective fields.
