Academy of Scientific & Innovative ResearchHonours Four Eminent Scientists with Doctorates, Validates India's Rising Scientific Competitiveness
New Delhi, [Date] - The Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) today conferred doctorate degrees to four renowned scientists, reinforcing its status as a leading scientific institution in the country. Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology; Earth Sciences and Minister of State for PMO, Department of Atomic Energy, Department of Space, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Dr. Jitendra Singh honored the four scientists during the 8th convocation of AcSIR.
The institution's futuristic academic approach has been hailed as a cornerstone for achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a "Viksit Bharat 2047" - a sustainable development and innovation agenda aimed at transforming India into a global leader in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
AcSIR has successfully replicated this vision through its innovative model, which combines diverse disciplines such as engineering, biosciences, and information sciences with emerging fields like medical research and agriculture. The institution's academic flexibility has enabled it to rank among the top 3% of global universities despite being relatively young.
Dr. Jitendra Singh praised AcSIR for its partnerships with over 82 institutions, including CSIR, ICMR, and DST, which exemplify effective collaboration in research and development. He noted that these partnerships have also contributed to India's growing startup culture, particularly through its Integrated PhD program, which links innovation, imagination, and industry right from the start of research journeys.
The institution has achieved significant success stories in emerging areas such as space and biotechnology, with over 300 space startups and nearly 9,000 biotechnology startups contributing significantly to the country's economy. Dr. Jitendra Singh also highlighted the accomplishments of women in science, including the historic appointment of CSIR's first woman Director General.
The convocation reflects India's growing scientific prowess and the government's commitment to fostering a knowledge-driven economy. By blending innovation, entrepreneurship, and academic excellence, institutions like AcSIR are not only transforming education but also shaping India's path to becoming a global leader in science and technology.
As Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized during his address, "AcSIR embodies the principles of the National Education Policy 2020, offering students unparalleled flexibility in their academic pursuits." This vision has been validated through AcSIR's collaborations with world-renowned institutions such as the University of Western Australia and AIST Japan.
The event witnessed the participation of eminent dignitaries, including Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Advisor, Government of India; Prof. N. Kalaiselvi, Director General, CSIR & Secretary, DSIR; Prof. Rajiv Bahl, Director General, ICMR & Secretary, DHR and Prof. P. Balaram, Chancellor, AcSIR.
As the nation continues to strive for its ambitious goals, institutions like AcSIR are playing a crucial role in shaping India's scientific landscape. By recognizing their achievements and validating their scientific contributions, we take a step closer towards achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a "Viksit Bharat 2047."
