AAP and SP Slam BJP over Handling of UPPSC Exams in UP

Prayagraj: Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav has slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Uttar Pradesh for its handling of the protest by UPPSC exam aspirants in Prayagraj and failure to properly organise the exams.

The protest, which began on November 28, is against the UPPSC's decision to conduct the Review Officer and Assistant Review Officer (RO-ARO) and Provincial Civil Service (PCS) preliminary examinations on different dates. The students have been holding a protest outside the Commission headquarters in Prayagraj for the past four days.

In a statement, Yadav expressed solidarity with the students but criticized the BJP government for its inability to ensure smooth conduct of competitive exams in the state. "Those who talk about 'One Nation, One Election' cannot even manage exams for students on a single day," he said.

Referring to the exam crisis, Yadav accused the BJP government of spreading confusion and hardship among students. "This is the same government that promotes 'One Nation, One Election' but, in Uttar Pradesh, they cannot even manage to conduct exams for our youngsters," he said.

The UPPSC had announced that the RO-ARO preliminary examination would be held on December 22 and 23, while the PCS preliminary examination will be held on December 7 and 8. However, this decision drew widespread criticism from the aspirants, who claimed it caused unnecessary confusion and hardship.

Reacting to the UPPSC's recent announcement, Yadav said that they had postponed the RO-ARO exam and announced that they would hold the PCS exam in an old pattern on a single day. The commission also formed a committee to ensure transparency and fairness in the exams.

The Samajwadi Party chief expressed hope that the BJP government would understand the election mathematics and take necessary steps to resolve the issue immediately. "If the arrogant BJP government thinks that by removing the protesting aspirants from the UPPSC office, it will put an end to the democratic movement of the youth for their rights, then it is its 'great mistake'," he said in a post on X.

Yadav further warned that if the BJP relies too heavily on mathematics and fails to understand the aspirations of the students, they would lose around 25,000 votes in every assembly seat. "The BJP is about to be finished forever. Candidates of today say, 'we don't want BJP!'," he said.

With thousands of students protesting against the UPPSC's decision, the issue has become a major contentious one in Uttar Pradesh politics. As the situation unfolds, residents are watching closely to see how the government addresses the demands of the student community.
