Aam Aadmi Party's Fresh Face Atishi On Top, Why Kailash Gahlot Decided To Quit

In a surprising development, Kailash Gahlot, the veteran Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, has decided to quit the party. The decision comes after a series of incidents and power struggles within the AAP.

Sources close to the matter have revealed that 50-year-old Gahlot was expecting a better position and power after the top leadership went jail and the AAP underwent a major reshuffle. Despite being one of the senior-most leaders in terms of age, he was not given more power and portfolio allocations.

The party's decision to nominate debutant Atishi, who joined the post of Delhi's chief minister just last August, as its new face sent shockwaves among high-ranking officials. Gahlot felt snubbed by being passed over for flag-hoisting on Independence Day, which he would have done if not for L-G VK Saxena intervening.

Moreover, several AAP sources claim that the party leadership was not willing to promote anyone, including seasoned figures like Gahlot's colleagues in recent months. Sources close to the matter also point out that AAP leaders felt Atishi wasn't deserving of top roles and blamed senior AAP officials.
