700 Players to Represent Uttarakhand's Sports Dreams at National Games 2025

Dehradun, December [date] - In a major boost to the state's sports aspirations, around 700 players from Uttarakhand have registered for their participation in the 38th National Games 2025, which will begin from January 28.

The massive representation of Uttarakhand players has sent euphoric waves across the nation and is expected to increase the hill state's chances of emerging at the top of the medal table.

Prior to this, three Indian states - Rajasthan, Haryana, and Andhra Pradesh, had registered over 1,000 players each for the National Games 2025. This immense participation has given Uttarakhand a healthy head start in their bid to bring down medals from the prestigious event.

Moreover, as per the latest schedule, only one sport namely athletics was retained among six sports that were dropped and four other games - Handball, Volleyball, Taekwondo, and Golf.

Accordingto sources, this decision was taken by the National Games Organizing Committee due to technical issues with the remaining events.
