50th Police Science Meet in Ahmedabad to Explore Cutting-Edge Themes
The 50th edition of the All India Police Science Conference is set to take place in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, from [dates], with Union Home Minister Amit Shah as its inaugural guest. The two-day event will bring together experts from various fields to discuss eight key themes that will shape the future of law enforcement agencies.
These cutting-edge topics include community policing, AI in the criminal justice system, blockchain technology in policing, and radicalisation in prisons. Other areas of focus will be applying forensics in new criminal laws, policing in smart cities, and the role of police in disaster risk reduction.
"We have an exciting lineup of discussions that will help find solutions to some of the challenges faced by law enforcement agencies," said Rekha Lohani, Inspector General at the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D). "From leveraging emerging technologies like AI and blockchain to exploring innovative approaches to community policing, we want to bring experts from different walks of life under one platform to achieve that."
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will be present as a special guest during Shah's inaugural address. The conference will also feature the release of a compendium of research papers compiled by domain experts.
In addition to the main conference, a police-tech expo in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is set to take place alongside the event, showcasing the latest innovations and solutions for policing operations.
