Middle-School Students Shine at Poynette Science Fair
A gathering of enthusiastic seventh-graders from Poynette Middle School took place in Madison, Wisconsin, as they competed in the second annual science fair on Thursday afternoon. The students showcased their scientific prowess by presenting their projects to their community.
The middle-schoolers demonstrated impressive research skills and critical thinking abilities, creating hypotheses, designing experiments, and collecting data throughout the year. As a culmination of their efforts, they put together an engaging presentation that highlighted their findings and discoveries.
One student, Henry Schmudlach, expressed his satisfaction with the entire experience and shared his passion for scientific inquiry. "I loved seeing my project progress throughout the year," he said. "It really shows how much pizzazz you want to put into your board and how much you feel about what you're doing."
Poynette science teacher Allison Larson was delighted to see her students receive recognition and support from their community. "I believe it's essential for students to witness the excitement and encouragement provided by their peers, family, and community members outside of the classroom," she added.
Larson also appreciated the opportunity for parents and community members to witness all the hard work put into the projects over the past year.
This annual science fair serves as a platform for middle-school students to develop essential skills in scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and effective communication.
